Day 01: Hanoi Arrival (D)
Welcome to Hanoi – the charming capital of Vietnam, on arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you will be welcomed by your local tour guide and driver and transfer to your hotel. Check in and take a rest for awhile, the rest of day is your leisure. Now go out and find out the much different cultures in Hanoi, wander old streets, drop by souvenir shops, taste local food or capture photographs of locals’ life.
Evening: Enjoy family dinner at a nice restaurant overlooking the beautiful lake of Hoan Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 02: Hanoi City tour – night train to Sapa (B, L, D)
Morning: Enjoy a full day city tour with the first destination is Ho Chi Minh Complex including Ho Chi Minh mausoleum where people visit to express our admiration and gratitude towards the Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh, nearby the Presidential Palace where Uncle Ho refused to live into to build the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts where the leader Ho Chi Minh spent the last part of his life
In this complex, we also visit One Pillar Pagoda is a historic Buddhist temple in Hanoi designed to resemble a lotus blossom.
By a private car, we continue moving to the Temple of Literature which is dedicated to Confucius and honors Vietnam’s finest scholars and then get to The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology with houses modeling after 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.
The biggest lake in Hanoi, West Lake is the ideal place to see landscape and enjoy some fresh air before reaching the History Museum providing a great overview of the history of Vietnam.
After these destinations, go in the Old Quarter area to visit the legend lake - Hoan Kiem lake. Nearby here, we will enjoy the water puppet performance within 45 minutes.
Finally, transfer to the Train Station to board the overnight train to Sapa.
Day 03: Sapa Hike – Nam Cang Village (B, L, D)
Early Morning: Arrive in Lao Cai train Station and then meet your guide and transfer to your hotel.
Have breakfast, relax with a cup of coffee to put your energy before your hike. On our way,
We get the spectacular landscape of Hoang Lien mountain range and don’t forget to capture this scenery and locals at minority villages such as Tay ethnic group living on house stilts. During our trek, we pass paddling rice terraces and enjoy the stunning views of mountains or the deep valley view.
Then we have lunch at a local restaurant before visiting Black Hmong villages. Where visitors know about their special skills in making local instruments, jewelry, agricultural tools or indigo dying.
Finally, we reach the most remote area of Nam Cang - Red Dao minority village where we will stay overnight at the Lodge built and owned by Red Dao families. Your accommodation is next to the river, you can swim or take a walk around the village to witness the daily life of locals.
Day 04: Trekking along rivers to remote Hillsides (B, L)
Wake up and have breakfast with coffee or tea before continue a higher trek to Red Dao village of Nam Ngan. You can catch daily life and the living conditions by the ethnic minorities and served a cup of tea or an optional rice wine as hospitality.
The next visit is the Xa Pho minority in My Son village
After lunch, we finish our hike near the Muong Bo River and wait for the transport to get back Sapa and catch the overnight train to Hanoi.
Day 05: Hanoi – Halong Bay Excursion (B, L, D)
Arrive in Hanoi early morning. Get breakfast and headed to Halong Bay considered the 8th Wonder of the World. Have a cup of coffee before boarding the overnight boat trip. Enjoy your seafood lunch on the cruise while catching the stunning landscape. Then take a visit to Sung Sot Cave, Tuan Chau Island, and Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island, Sail Island and a swim at Titop beach, Kayaking and get a lesson in Vietnamese cooking.
Evening: Enjoy the local entertainment or watch a classic Vietnamese film or relax on sundeck
Day 06: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Da Nang – Hoi An (B, L)
Early morning catch the spectacular sunrise on the Bay, or the optional thing - Tai Chi on the sundeck. A hearty buffet breakfast & brunch will be served while cruising back to Halong City. Our guide takes you to Noi Bai airport (3.5h) to board the afternoon flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, our local guide in Da Nang will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel downtown in Hoi An.
Day 07: Cycling in Hoi An town (B, L, D)
You can feel the peaceful atmosphere. There are a nice beach, rivers, museums and old houses and easy to walk or ride a bicycle around to explore. Spend a day leisurely cycling through the scenic countryside of Vietnam, far from the traffic the motor scooters, and the noises the city.
After breakfast, our tour guide picks you up at your hotel and get to Bach Dang Boat Station.
- Go on a boat trip to Kim Bong Carpentry Village, meet with the artisans as they make beautiful and unique items from wood.
- Continue to explore the countryside by taking a guided bicycle trip along peaceful village roads. Visit some local families and learn how to make wine from the rice, colorful sleeping mats, rice noodle and rice paper. You could enjoy the specialties of Viet Nam countryside.
- Move to Tra Nhieu fishing village and try to be a real fisherman. You also have the chance to try rowing the traditional bamboo boat along the water coconut forest and feeling the freshness. Your cutie kids would love paddling the traditional bamboo basket boats (thung chai) through the water coconut jungle and discover the natural beauty by the charming bamboo bridge –an extremely memorable adventure. Kids can try their hands at fishing and lunch afterwards is very delicious, which serve by the peaceful river. It will be a great educational trip for your kids.
Enjoy your lunch by the peaceful river. You will travel back by boat to Hoi An in a picturesque 40-minute trip. The rest of day is free at leisure.
Overnight in Hoi An
Day 08: Cooking class in Hoi An (B, L)
Our departure is a café shop where we enjoy coffee or hot tea before starting the guided tour for a cooking class.
Firstly, we visit Hoi An’s colorful central market and led by an experienced guide and learn about the fresh ingredients and the unique flavors or spices of Vietnamese cuisine and buy them for the cooking lesson later.
Then we cruise a 25-minute scenic journey along the Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School.
On arrival, Walk through the Red Bridge Cooking School’s herb garden and see herbs that give Vietnamese cuisines its unique flavors.
And then the Chefs demonstrate the preparation of each dish and you can learn to prepare the dishes yourself
After the lesson which takes 2 hours, sit down and enjoy the dishes that you’ve made. After the meal and relax for awhile, feel free to use the swimming pool.
Our last stop is to return back to the town to enjoy a relaxing foot herbal massage.
Overnight in Hoi An
Day 09: Hoi An – Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh city (B, L, D)
Take a morning flight to Saigon and transfer to hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, we will have a half day to explore one of Southeast Asia’s liveliest cities, Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon. Begin our sightseeing by visiting the former Presidential Palace, War Remnants Museum, the imposing Notre Dame Cathedral and the French style central Post Office, Cho Lon, the Chinatown of Saigon where we see the huge Binh Tay wholesale market and the Thien Hau Pagoda.
In the evening, enjoy dinner while cruising on Saigon River.
Overnight in Saigon
Day 10: Ho Chi Minh city – Mekong Delta (B, L, D)
Start a full day excursion to Mekong Delta and depart for the rural countryside of Cai Be, the principle attraction on a boat tour. We will visit the Cai Be Floating Market to experience how locals exchanging fruits, vegetables and many other commodities on their vessels. This place bears all the characteristics of the locals’ life in the western region of Ho Chi Minh.
Next, we see the canals while rowing a boat to reach fruit orchards where you can taste the tropical fruits and visit the candy factory to taste coconut candy or crispy rice cake and see how locals make them. Complimentary hot tea
After this, you will roam through a village by bike to stop by several rural shops or you can take a rest in a hammock
Then you will head back to Saigon for dinner at a local restaurant and a good night’s sleep.
Day 11: Ho Chi Minh – Phu Quoc (tropical paradise) (B)
Goodbye, Saigon and head for Phu Quoc Island. A must-visit beach for anyone visiting Vietnam. It is worth visiting for a family vacation. Go trek through the tropical forest, snorkeling or diving into the blue ocean, and explore the pearl factory. And a beautiful beachfront resort will make it perfect for your family vacation.
Day 12-14: Days on the beach (B)
Full day free at leisure to enjoy and explore Phu Quoc, a tropical island paradise with soft white sand beaches: swimming, snorkeling, cycling, spa, taste local cuisines...lots of things to do. Relax and enjoy!
Day 15: Continue the relaxation on Phu Quoc Island (B)
Create wonderful moments for your family. Take advantage of this time to drive a motorbike around the island, explore Phu Quoc national park (kids can learn much), tasting local cuisines, playing sports together. Or simply enjoy the ocean sunset. BBQ service on the beach is available.
Day 16: Phu Quoc – Saigon – Siem Reap (B, D)
Enjoy your last day at white-sand beaches in Vietnam family holiday before boarding your flight to Saigon and then take the flight to Siem Reap, home to Angkor Wat, The primary attraction for visitors. In the evening, enjoy a buffet dinner with Apsara Show dance. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 17: Siem Reap – Temples of Angkor (B)
After breakfast, transfer to visit Ta Prohm temple built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries called “the jungle temple” because this temple was abandoned and neglected for centuries among the jungle and restored in the early 20th century. Here, you will see the magnificent old trees overgrown the temple's structure with the massive roots of huge trees binding the temple.
And continue to visit the complicatedly carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat which is famous for its beguiling apsaras (heavenly nymphs) including about 3000 apsaras are carved into the walls of Angkor Wat.
The next destination is the last capital of the Khmer established in the 12th century is mysterious Royal city Angkor Thom. In the heart of Angkor Thom, we can’t miss Bayon which is a Buddhist temple having 2000 faces carved on 54 towers which represent the Khmer provinces in the Great Khmer Empire Period (Angkor period) and gives this temple its majestic character.
And surroundings of the complex, take a sightseeing including Prasat Baphuon, Terrace of Elephants and its north is the Terrace of Leper King
Back hotel and overnight at hotel.
Day 18: Siem Reap – Artisans D’ Angkor – Great Lake of Cambodia (B)
After breakfast, we start a visit to the local main shrine of Preah Ang Check/Chom temple located in the heart of Siem Reap. A great opportunity to see Khmer honor their ancestors and never forget to pay our respects to them and ask for good health, happiness and prosperity in our life.
The next visit is Artisans D’ Angkor created in 1999 to help young people in rural areas find work in their home villages. Here you will get the deep insight into the traditional handicrafts in Cambodia such as wood carving, stone carving, traditional silk painting, lacquering from skills of those young people. This organization has created employment to over 1,000 craftsmen
Visitors get explanation about great story of Artisans Angkor, from its origins as the training program to today’s thriving social business
In late afternoon you will transfer to Tonle Sap Lake to visit Floating Village, also known as the Great Lake of Cambodia. Find out how communities live and work on the lake; see the floating schools, markets, and police stations, among others; observe their daily lives.
Day 19: Siem Reap Departure (B)
In the final day of your Vietnam and Cambodia trip, you can buy some souvenirs for yourself and friends, then when you are home, tell them all about the unforgettable memories, experiences and beautiful scene you’ve seen. The last day may go a little fast but let’s enjoy the last peaceful moments, carve the image in your family’s mind.
