Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Hanoi

Welcome to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. Known for its centuries old architecture and delectable cuisine, Hanoi is not only rich in history and culture, but also a buzzing city and a connecting hub to other parts of the country and region. Upon arrival at Hanoi Airport (Noi Bai), you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the day at your leisure, followed by a welcome dinner in a local restaurant. Spend the first night in Hanoi.

Day 2

Hanoi - Capital of Culture

After breakfast with some strong Vietnamese coffee, you are ready for a tour of Hanoi. The first stop is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, which is known for honoring the national hero, President Ho Chi Minh. Next stop is the one thousand year old One Pillar Pagoda, one of the most iconic temples in Vietnam, known for its unique lotus blossom shape sitting on top of a wooden pillar erected from a lotus pond. Continue to the largest lake in Hanoi, West Lake, for some stunning sceneries before heading to the Temple of Literature, the oldest university in Vietnam. In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Vietnamese Ethnology and return to the Old District of Hanoi to explore some more before watching a live water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3

Hanoi - Ha Long Bay - Bay of the 1600 islands

Today, you will leave the bustling city behind and embark on the scenic drive to Ha Long Bay and embark on a cruise with an overnight stay on board. Once you start the cruise journey, a fresh seafood lunch will be served. In the afternoon, you can go on a cave excursion, swim at Ti Top Beach, or explore the bay on kayak. Afterwards, have dinner aboard while watching the sun go down. In the evening, relax on the deck or watch a classic Vietnamese movie. Spend the night on board.

Day 4

Ha Long Bay - Hanoi - Hue

If you get up early, join us for a Tai Chi session while soaking in the glow of the rising sun. Enjoy a nice breakfast on board and spend the morning swimming, kayaking, or simply enjoying the sun and the ocean breeze from the sundeck. After lunch, you check out of the cruise and return to Hanoi for your flight to Hue. After arriving at Hue, your local guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Spend the night in Hue.

Day 5

Imperial Citadel Hue

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Imperial Citadel in Hue, one of Vietnam's seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Continue to the Imperial Museum where you will find a gallery with a large antique collection highlighting Vietnam's history. Then visit the Khai Dinh tomb. In the afternoon, take a boat trip on the Perfume River and visit Thien Mu Pagoda, Dong Ba Market and Minh Mạng Tomb.

Day 6

Hue - Danang - Hoi An

Today you leave Hue to go to Hoi An. Check in to your Hoi An hotel before taking a guided city tour in the afternoon. You local guide will meet you at the hotel and walk you over the Japanese Bridge, visit the Chinese boardrooms, various trading houses, pagodas, and stroll through the Thu Bon River Market. The evening is yours to explore the city with its cafes, restaurants, old-style houses, and unforgettable sight of its enchanting lanterns.

Day 7

Hoi An - Danang - Ho Chi Minh City

Say goodbye to Hoi An, today you will fly from Da Nang Airport to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). After a nice lunch upon your Saigon arrival, you will start a tour to learn about the history of this Vietnam's biggest metropolis. First stop is a visit to the former Palace of the President and the War Remnants Museum. Continue to the grand Notre Dame Cathedral and the French-style Central Post Office. Next you will go to Chinatown where you will visit the massive Binh Tay Wholesale Market and the beautiful Thien Hau Pagoda. End the tour with a dinner in a local restaurant before returning to the hotel for overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 8

Ho Chi Minh City -Cu Chi Tunnel - Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, leave Ho Chi Minh City and drive to Cu Chi Tunnel - the famous underground tunnel system used during the Vietnam War. Here you will learn everything about the tunnels and can descend into them to explore. After this unique experience, we will have hot tea with cassava, a typical guerrilla food during the war. Head back to Ho Chi Minh City where you will spend the night.

Day 9

Day Trip to the Mekong Delta

After breakfast, take a drive to the Mekong Delta where you will board a motorboat to get to the floating market. Transferred to row boat to cruise through the small canals until you arrive at a large orchard with many exotic tropical fruits of Vietnam for you to taste. You will also get to sample coconut sweets, crispy rice cakes and see the local pottery products. Afterwards you can bike through a rural village or, alternatively, relax in a traditional hammock. Back to Ho Chi Minh City to stay overnight.

Day 10

Ho Chi Minh City Departure

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and have free time until your airport transfer arrives to take you to the airport for your flight home.
