Day | Exploring the remote temples of Angkor Archaeological Park

Around 7 a.m. you drive towards the outskirts today. About 35 km from Angkor is the Banteay Srei temple, which was built in the 10th century and is dedicated to Shiva. This temple is considered the birthplace of Khmer architecture. The pink sandstone structure carries a number of striking and beautiful sculptures, lintels, gables and friezes that you can explore today. Then we continue to the ancient Khmer cultural site Hariharalaya, which flourished in the late 9th and early 10th centuries. These are the oldest temples in the archaeological park.
